I have read that often, breakthroughs and answers to prayer only come after someone declares in faith, a word or statement over a person. This is true throughout the Bible. Words of prophecy were spoken by prophets and people of God. At a later time, these words gave birth to the breakthrough or event that was declared.

I had seen many words given and declared over people and situations that later came to pass. I then began to daily ask the Lord to give me words of knowledge, images, dreams and visions for people - so that I may speak into their lives. Within days, I was giving words to people - many that I didn’t know. In most instances, I heard a report back from the person in whom I had given a word, that they received the breakthrough or outcome I had spoke over them.

In December, 2008, at my small group bible study, I gave the person who has posted on this site, known as ‘a follower of Jesus from Aurora’, a declaration. I had known this person since March 2008. I had known that he had been pressing in for breakthroughs in the ministry of healing through his prayers. I had also known that he had begun seeing fruits of his labor, in which he prayed for several people each week. I also knew that his greatest desire in ministering prayer to those afflicted, was to pray for someone in a wheelchair and that they would be healed and walk. On this one such evening at our small group, I was praying for ‘a follower of Jesus’. In that prayer, faith arose within me and I declared over his life, that “there would be people in wheelchairs that would walk, when he prayed for them”. As you can read here in his testimony, a man arose from his wheelchair on June 7th, 2009 and walked! Praise God!

When you receive a word from the Lord, declare it!
