On Friday evening, 4 September, I was in a local shopping area in Virginia with some friends. There was a large group of teenagers hanging out on a street corner, and we started talking to them. I told one teenager named “Shaw” that we were giving people encouraging words from God and we would give him one if he wanted. He said, “Sure”. I told him to give us 10-15 seconds. Everyone laughed, including the other teenager standing with him. I focused on God for about 10 seconds to see what I would hear. After about 10 seconds I told him “I have an impression of a stream or river, flowing fast with clear water, but with black rocks at various places in the stream. You are surfing down the stream and you are going around all the rocks, and not hitting them, just surfing down the stream and having fun.” He then said “Wow, that’s me man. I am a surfer.” Then he told me, “I’m afraid of dark places, like even those back streets over there that are dark, they really scare me. I just don’t like the dark. I am fearful of the dark.” He was pretty serious about this and not kidding around. I told him that I thought the impression meant that God wanted to take him around all the dark places, and that when dark or scary things come up in his life, that God would give him what he needs to get around them.” He liked that.
He talked more about how he has a great fear of the dark and anything evil. I told him about the great light of the world, Jesus, and how when you invite Jesus to live inside of you, all darkness must flee. After about 10 minutes of more talking, we prayed for him, that all darkness would flee, and that he be blessed in the name of Jesus Christ. Afterwards he said “I feel like lighter. It’s hard to explain.” I told him that it was the presence of the Holy Spirit on him. We talked more about Jesus, and that Jesus would protect him and live inside of him, but he had to ask him to live inside. He said he wasn’t ready to do that yet. I told him that’s fine, but next time he was by himself and fearing the darkness, to call on the name of Jesus and he would come.
A little bit later someone told us that “Shaw’s” back was hurt. We asked about this, and Shaw told us that he hurt his back while skateboarding. He let us put our hands on his shoulder and pray. We prayed in the name of Jesus Christ for healing for 20 seconds. Afterwards we told him to test it out and he said “Hmm, it does feel better, yeah, it feels better. That’s cool.” I told him that God is a 100% God, so let’s pray again. We did and we told him to test it out again. Shaw said “Hey….for real, all of the pain is gone… this is weird man! My back is good!” We had to go so we left him and his friends on the corner, with a back healed by Jesus Christ. He was still testing out his back.
I think that the next time Shaw fears the darkness, he will call on the one and only living God that he experienced first hand on the street corner on a Friday night.

On Saturday morning, 6 June 2009, I was driving past a busy intersection in
Aurora, CO and noticed a few men on the side of the road asking for money. I
stopped and gave each of them a few dollars and noticed one of them in a wheel
chair. I talked to “Scott” for a few minutes and asked him about his
physical ailments. He had numerous issues from bullet shots which hit him in
the back while serving in the military in Iraq, and couldn’t fully extend his
fingers, or feel light touches on his fingers (amongst other things). I asked
him if I could pray for him and he said “yea.”
I put my hand on his shoulder and prayed for about 20 seconds something like
“In the name of Jesus, I speak healing into your hand and fingers. I speak
100% healing into your hand, in the name of Jesus.” I stopped and asked him
if he felt anything different. He said, “Not really” and I immediately said
“No problem, let me pray again.” I did, and about 20 seconds later I asked
him again if he felt anything different. He sat there looking at his fingers,
which were slightly curved inward toward his palms, and they then stretched out
perfectly straight! He sat there looking at them, and he very quietly said
something like “I can’t believe this, my fingers can’t flex out straight,
but they are now straight.” I got excited. I told him that Jesus was healing
his hands. I asked him what else was wrong and he told me he couldn’t feel
touches on his fingers. I touched his fingers as a test and he couldn’t feel
anything. I prayed again for about 20 seconds and then we tested his fingers.
I touched each one of them very lightly. He stared at his fingers and said “I
can actually feel that, my fingers are feeling, this is crazy, I mean, this is
just crazy.” He was starting to get excited. I started laughing. I told him
that the Kingdom of Heaven had come upon him and Jesus had healed his fingers.
I asked him if he could stand up and walk, and he said he could stand, but not
really walk much. He stood up. I prayed for his legs to be healed in the name
of Jesus for about 20 seconds. He grabbed my arm and started to take steps. We
walked about 50 feet, and he kept saying out loud, “This is crazy, I haven’t
done this (with my legs) in a long time, this is just crazy.” We walked
together about 100 feet or so. He said he was just tired because he wasn’t
used to walking with his leg muscles. We sat down and talked for another 10
minutes and prayed about a few things.
Thank you Jesus that your Kingdom is at hand!

Testimony from Follower of Jesus in Aurora, CO:
Man’s Upper and Lower Legs
Regain Feeling

On Sunday morning, 7 June 2009, I was driving past a busy intersection in
Aurora, CO on my way to church and noticed the same man (Scott), in a
wheelchair, who I had prayed for the day before. He had received healing in his
fingers and I wanted to see how he was doing today. When I walked up to him he
told me something like, “Hey, I want to tell you, last night before I went to
sleep, I got on my knees, raised my hands in the air, and thanked God for what
he did for me yesterday. I haven’t done that in a long time.” He was very
sincere and smiling. He told me his story again about being injured 14 months
earlier in Iraq while serving in the military. I asked him what else I could
pray about. He told me he had no feeling in his upper legs. He began hitting
his legs with his fists to prove to me that he couldn’t feel anything.
He let me pray for his legs. It was a 20-30 second prayer. “In the name of
Jesus Christ I speak 100% healing and feeling into your legs.” I told him to
test it. He poked the tops of his legs. He paused and said, “I think I feel
a little something now, but nothing major.” I thanked God for what He was
starting to do and prayed again. He tested his legs again. He was quiet for a
minute while he poked his upper legs and got excited and said “I can feel
that, I mean, I can really feel that!” He then showed me that he couldn’t
feel anything from his knees to his ankles. I prayed for that in the name of
Jesus. After the first time, I poked his legs, and he felt it. He was all
smiles and excited. He kept saying something like, “This is so good.” I
got him to stand up like the day before, and prayed for his legs again, for full
mobility. He was ready to try walking. He walked slowly, side by side, for
about 200ft down the sidewalk. He said “This is just #@$%!@ good! Whoops, I
mean, pardon my French, but you don’t understand. I haven’t walked like
this since I was shot 14 months ago in Iraq! I mean, this is great!” I was
excited as he was. He took a seat in his wheelchair and said he had a
doctor’s appointment next week and he felt he should get walking crutches to
replace his wheelchair. I told him he should do it, and I expected to see him
100% walking within the next few weeks.
I had to go, but I was blessed to be able to see God move in such an awesome
way and heal this man. He opened up some other issues on his heart which we
prayed for. He also prayed for me and then I had to leave. Thank you Jesus for
allowing me to see the Kingdom erupt on earth!

On August 13, 2008, I was in attendance at the Global Awakening Conference on Impartation and Healing in Castle Rock, Colorado. I had never attended such a conference prior to this. In the opening session, Randy Clark spoke of the ‘word of knowledge’, which is written in 1 Corinthians 14:6. Without making this turn into a short novel, I will just say that a word of knowledge comes when you ask the Holy Spirit to give you a word, a feeling, or knowledge in some form (an image) of what the Spirit of God wants to reveal. If the Spirit reveals something to you, it is confirmation that God is present and the ‘atmosphere’ shifts where you can expect a miracle to happen for this specific revelation. When the some 500+ conference attendees were asked to pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal to us a word of knowledge, I did just that. In less than 1 second after doing this, I heard (not audibly) in my mind ‘deviated septum’. I instantly thought that strange, as because while I had heard and read that term before, I hadn’t heard or read that term in well over a year.

Randy then asked “I would like 20 of you who have never received a word of knowledge before, to come forward, if you received one”. I boldly got up and went forward, with about 20 others. Randy proceeded to go down the line and ask what word each person received. When the first person told theirs, Randy turned to the conference attendees and asked how many of them had that condition, or illness. About 6 or so people raised their hands. Randy then announced that when all 20 of us had given our words, that the people in the crowd who had that particular condition, were to come forward and the person who gave that word that applied to them was to then pray for all of these persons! At that moment, I kind of wished that I was still in my seat!

At the conclusion of the words being given, the six people with deviated septums came forward and stood in a line before me. I decided that if God was going to heal them, He would do so, as I had no power or perfect prayer that could do this. I also sensed that if I had fear, it would be an obstacle to the potential of seeing a miracle. I decided I just needed to be obedient and do what He asks of us. Before I laid hands on the first person and prayed, I said to myself “Lord, I cannot do this, but You can.” I then asked the first person about their condition, to loosen things up a bit. After listening to them, I laid my hand on their nose and prayed. I did this for all six persons. I felt a little awkward each time, but at the same time, prayed with faith that the power and presence of God would heal them. The last lady said she felt a ’shift, or something move’ in her nasal passage. I was elated and I followed her to her seat, where she was seated, continuing to talk a bit. I felt faith arise in me and I asked her if I could pray for her one more time. She said, yes. She then introduced me to her daughter, who was seated. She told me that she also had a deviated septum, but was too shy to come forward. I then asked her “can I pray for you too?” She said “sure”.

I then prayed for each of them, one at a time, each time laying hands on their noses. I was filled with faith in this moment, believing God was at work. I then smiled and went back to my seat. That was about 10 in the morning. This was a four day conference, with three speakers, and went from 8 AM to 9 PM each day. Each night, attendees could stay after and linger a bit and visit in the sanctuary or lobby area. At the conclusion of this first day, I was speaking to someone I met at the conference in the sanctuary. It was about 9:30 PM. There were only about 30 or so people left lingering in the sanctuary. I was near where my seat was. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the daughter who I prayed for was running through the aisle of seats where I was and she was screaming with exuberance “God healed me, God healed me, God healed me!!!” She was not only exuberant, she was all smiles and crying as well. When she reached me, we instantly embraced. It was a stunning moment that I will never forget. I then asked her about it. She told me that during the day, her right nasal passage began to open and she could breathe through it for the first time ever. I saw her the second day, at lunchbreak and once again asked her about it. She told me that it used to be 100% blocked and now it felt ‘about 75% open’. This is my first personal testimony that I will hold in my heart forevermore. Praise be to our Great God! I then realized, if I had not stepped out in faith and was obedient, this woman would still have a 100% blocked right nasal passage. Our OBEDIENCE and stepping out in FAITH allows our God to bring His supernatural signs, wonders and healings to the world, with our life submitted to Him.

From a Follower of Jesus in Aurora, Colorado.”

On Sunday afternoon, 26 May 2009, our family was eating dinner in a local restaurant. While enjoying our meal, we asked God to give us a word of encouragement for our waiter. A few minutes later one of us told our waiter, “…. I’m getting the phrase ‘fatherly figure’ for you. You might not be a father, but God sees you as a person who fills a fatherly role for others.” The waiter said, “Yea, although I’m not a father now, that does seem to apply to me.” Someone else told him, “I’m seeing a knife, which means that you are sharp and you can cut through junk to get to the good stuff.” The waiter was smiling and enjoying this.
Someone in our group asked the waiter, “Do you have pain in your shoulder?” He answered, “Not in my shoulder but in my left arm.” We told him we would like to pray for his arm to be healed, and he said that would be fine. We prayed and said “In the name of Jesus, arm be healed.” We told him to test it. He did and said, “Huh, my arm is feeling better, it’s not perfect but it’s better!” He smiled, and we told him we would pray again because God is a 100% God. We prayed again in the name of Jesus Christ. He said “Something like a shock just ran in my arm! Wow, this is good.” He was smiling and testing his arm. As he walked back to the kitchen, he continued to smile and move his arm around in amazement. Thank you Jesus for healing that left arm!
